2017's Best Beauty Finds
2018 is here! And that means a couple things: One, your gym will be packed come January for those #newyearnewmewhodis chumps, two, you can finally wake up late with the whole world shutting down for a couple days (except you, restaurant and retail people, you have my sympathy), and three, its the sale season, meaning that you can finally go and buy those things you've always wanted but never wanted to dish out half your monthly allowance for. Thankfully for you, I'm an impulsive shopper, so I've gone and bought these things throughout the year already.
The products are in no particular order and these are products that I remember on the top of my head (that way you know it's really special for me). I'll keep it short and sweet but if I've done a full review, I'll link it as well for you to read.
This cult fave do-all moisturiser needs no introduction. The thick, whipped-like cream is super moisturising without feeling heavy or suffocating on the skin. It saved my skin from dryness and is the only moisturiser that I could use without any serum or oils added to it! I featured it here and here. For UK gals, there's a seller on amazon who sells it but the price is quite steep.
This is literally the end-all be-all of texturising creams. I've tried quite a bit including the surf spray from Bumble & Bumble and this one trumps them all. I like to use it after my hair has dried and been styled since my natural hair is really straight. It gives the most beautiful undone look but not the hobo kind. Mentioned it here too.
Nothing beats Boy Brow when it comes to really natural-looking full brows. I've tried ones by Benefit, L'Oréal, Maybelline and Eyeko and they just don't compare! The texture is very matte pomade-like so it keeps brows in place, tints them, but is never crusty or shiny. Reviewed it along with other Glossier products here.
This has been my go-to lipstick for the whole year! I've had so many compliments whenever I have this on. What's great about this is that I never need to use a lip balm before I use this–It's my go-to when my lips aren't in the best shape. Lipstick Queen's lipsticks in general are massive hits for me and I really love them (as evident in my tribute post)
I think this lip & cheek tint and my bag are soulmates cause they are never apart! This versatile product has constantly been a bag staple. Unlike other products labelled "lip & cheek tint", this one is very nourishing, almost a thin balm-like consistency that works very well on both lips and cheeks. Very popular is a beautiful warm rose that makes me look glowy AF! This has been part of my "plump lip" routine post too!
Calling everyone who never felt like they belonged in the contour trend! This super easy to use contour wand is the most natural-looking and fool-proof contour for a sculpted face that doesn't look crazy at all! It just enhances the features that you have. Also, the applicator makes it easy to map out your face and where contour is needed for noobs like me.
I love Drunk Elephant's Umbra Sheer sunscreen but this one takes the cake. It gives my face such a dewy look that totally screams post-gym glow! The tint isn't too pigmented, there's barely any, but enough to even out any minor redness you may have. Just pop on a natural melty concealer and you're good to go!
Until now, this has been the only serum that I see real results instantly. It plumps and hydrates my skin so much that it really helped with my skin texture. It is also really gentle on sensitive skin like mine. Actually stressing right now cause I can't find it where I live!
Valia, girl if you're reading this, you know how much you and I love this perfume! It smells so amazingly fresh and sweet like the original but with more notes that makes it more sophisticated in a way. I've never craved a perfume as much as I did with this one and now that I've finally got my hands on it, I think it's safe to say it's my new signature scent.
I was never into lavender scents until I found this baby. It really smells like a sweet warm hug that just lulls you to sleep. The formula is also really nourishing especially for the winter-time. Some people has also even said that it helps with insomnia and anxiety! I just have to say, this and Pukka's Night Time Tea is the perfect stress-free get-the-f*ck-to-sleep combo that works every time.
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family lovelies! I apologise for my recent absence. A lot has happened in my personal life including losing my grandma. It has been tough but we're pulling through and ready for a clean slate and a fresh start in the new year!
