New Goodies from Colourpop!

As a late birthday gift, my boyfriend Max got me a couple goodies from Colourpop (per my request obvs) so special thanks to him for this! I got a couple different things:

As with a lot of Colourpop products, most of these are either limited edition or will go on sale soon once the season changes. Think of Colourpop as the fast fashion of makeup so if you see something you like, grab it quick. I am most excited for the Super Shock Shadows because they are just amazing formulas and incredible on the eyes. I own the Jenn Im Jenn Ne Sais Quoi LE collection and loved the formula so much that I decided to get (well in this case ask) some more!

Because some of the shades have glitter or are metallic, I decided to make a swatch video instead to show how it reflects the light. A picture just doesn't do it enough justice!

Where The Light Is is a really nice daytime quad with slightly warmer tones. There are two matte shades: Cornelious, a dusty warm rose (described as caramel by Colourpop) and Glow, a cream shade with slightly pinker undertones. The other two shades are Blazed, an ultra-glitter bronze shade with multi-coloured glitter, and KathleenLights (my fave), a satin golden copper which really looks more metallic on the eyes, like liquid metal! That said, I haven't successfully created a look with only the colours of this palette. I feel like it's missing a darker shade for the outer V to give dimension but otherwise the colours are great! For some reason I find the shade KathleenLights, at least on mine, is a lot more creamy than the others.

All Nighter

This has got to be the perfect shade combo for a darker smokey eye for a nice nighttime look. The colours are very caramel-y and warm-toned. Smash is a beautiful satin dark beige with a little bit of shimmer, Vega is a taupe with multi-coloured glitter that comes off super retro, To-A-T is pretty much my perfect midtone caramel brown that I love to pair with any eye look (also a great alternative to Deux from the Jenn Im Collection), and Mooning is a blackened plum with a somewhat reddish shimmer (similar to Blackheart from the UD Naked 3 Palette). I feel like all of these can be very complimentary to each other worn together, however, I've been using it together with other colours from other palettes/collections so it is definitely a versatile shadow collection.

Heavy Hitter is by far my favourite of the palettes I have, even though I got the wrong colour on the second shade. I was supposed to get Ringer which is a golden champagne colour and instead I got I Owe You (ironic right?) which is a creamsicle-like orange. Although I was definitely saddened by it, I think I would've never tried an orange shade and am now actually liking it! So there's good that comes out of everything I suppose. I'm probably going to order ringer cause I am missing a champagne shade to use as a base. Anyways, on to the colours. Full-Zip is a matte cream shade that is super pigmented (quite difficult to use on me without it looking too mannequin-like to be honest), Side Tracked is a terracotta shade with gold glitter, and Top Notch is a reddish terracotta brown. I've been loving using this palette together with the blotted lip in Candyfloss (below) which really pairs together nicely.

Blotted lip: exotic (alexis ren collab) & candyfloss

The blotted lip lipsticks are, well, lipsticks that give you that blotted lipstick look. Self explanatory really. They are similar to the regular matte lippie stix except I feel like these have a more waxy texture to them and of course with less pigment. This is what I hoped the Glossier Generation G lipsticks would be like. It is comfortable enough on the lips, however, I do still like to use a lipbalm blotted underneath just to give my lips an extra dose of moisture as my lips are quite dry. Exotic is an orange-red with a coral undertone (which when blotted becomes a coral red) and Candyfloss is a peachy terracotta. Overall super happy with this and am definitely hoping that they would come out with even more colours!
